Everlasting Glass of Covenant
I was at a Mass in one of our aged-care centres. On unpacking the Mass kit we could not locate the chalice for the Mass. We looked again. No chalice to be found. So, one of the residents went to the cafe to return with a tumbler glass! I reflected on the reflection of the glass. But also of the simple poverty of the Mass. The one who entered into the simple poverty of birth in a stable, could place his presence into a tumbler glass for our Mass.
In the
simple poverty
of a
glass
holding and reflecting
the richness
of one
who poured out
his lifeblood
among those
with many years of witness
in a covenant
everlasting
